Just as the seasons have changed with leaves turning golden and nights getting longer, we’ve also made a change or two here at Chuhan & Singh.

After 13 years with the firm, we’re delighted to announce that Chris Beaney has been promoted to Business Manager. Chris has been assisting in the role for several months now, and recently the decision was made to offer him the position full time. He took some time out of his busy day for a quick chat…

  • What excites you most about your new role?

I’m really looking forward to being in front of clients more and building those personal relationships. I will be reviewing the work of my accounts team members, as well as taking over the reviewing of all jobs within our VAT department.

Hopefully I’ll be able to not only ease the workload of my fellow manager, but also the partners of the business. I’ve learned a lot about the business having joined the company in 2006, and this understanding will help me both in my new role and while supporting the wider team where I can.

  • What made you decide to go into accountancy?

My father was an accountant, so I’ve grown up around figures and accountancy and it seemed a logical step. He’s definitely my inspiration!

  • If you couldn’t be an accountant, what would you be?

I genuinely don’t know, it’s not something I’ve ever considered! I have always had a passion for numbers, so I almost certainly would be in another finance role – perhaps a stockbroker!

  • What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?

On a typical weekend, I’ll be out and about with my daughter Ella – playing in parks, walking on beaches and reading stories. Of course, I’ll always have time to support my other passion – Sunderland AFC!

Congratulations again to Chris on his new role. For expert advice on all areas of accountancy, call a member of our team now on 01642 244090.
